The architect position will have the responsibility of development of the architecture at a large financial institution. The current technology in place uses a multitude of technology that has been integrated together over multiple company mergers. The architect position will also work with internal and external resources to develop target architecture for the HR Systems. This will be the long term direction we must head towards to solve business and technical requirements developed based on current architecture gaps and defined business requirements. The business requirements will define what will need to be in scope for this technology to support the business case both now and in the future. The technology requirements will define the needed improvements in our current applied technology and also the technology direction we must head towards. This future technology will be determined by working with external information resources and applying their guidance to our company’s needs. Specifically for this project we would hope that the applicant may have good experience in PeopleSoft enterprise application and other cloud based enterprise HR systems. This environment is unlike normal Information technology (IT) development due to it being outside standard controls applied to a business transactional environment. This is not a requirement but definitely a benefit for our needs. The applicant will work with a wide range of resources as noted both internal and external. They must be able to discuss business needs with non-technical business team mates along with highly technical research providers from external companies. Communication skills and high level architect technical skills will be a must. The desired candidate will be a self-starter who will work independently, as well as report and demonstrate progress on regular intervals. They will deliver complete and accurate documentation of the systems researched and provide actionable recommendations. Additionally, they will have the technical ability and prowess to recognize areas where immediate corrective action should be taken and have the ability to develop solutions throughout the review process. They will think outside the immediate paradigm while maintaining enterprise standards and industry best practices.


•Develop conceptual high level architecture for HR systems

•Manage all architecture activities through SDLC process.

•Collaborate with other architects, vendors, and technical SMEs within/outside the enterprise. Skills & Requirements

•Have a solid track record of building medium to large scale systems

•Deep understanding of cloud based application integration


Develops and maintains business system and corporate architectures.  Responsible for working on medium to high architectural impact projects, recommending exceptions to the Enterprise Architecture for low to medium impact projects, reviewing and approving low architectural impact designs and directing implementation of the architecture for multiple applications or a component family.  Conducts complex technology and system assessments for component architecture.  Acts as a lead in component architecture and participates in enterprise architecture activity.  Provides in-depth technical and systems consultation to internal clients and technical management to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture.


  • 7+ years design and planning experience in systems, applications or IT Architecture.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with HR applications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with PeopleSoft application suite
  • 7+ years industry experience in software development
  • 6+ years as an architect for enterprise applications
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
