Job Scope & Purpose:
Our Cambridge based client is seeking to grow their team by adding an eager and sharp-witted researcher to the bench with experience within in vitro studies, specifically ex vivo analysis and primary immune cultivation. This company is exploring a powerful new paradigm in the microbiome field developing novel drugs focused on immuno-oncology. Primary Job Responsibilities: 
  • Maintenance of cell lines in culture for use in assays. Isolation of immune cells from human blood and human tissue (small intestine)
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities. Design and conduct in vitro assays using cell lines and primary human/mouse cells. Design and conduct ex vivo analysis of immune cells or conditioned media by ELISA, Western blot, flow cytometry, etc.
  • Maintain and organize data to effectively communicate experiments procedures and results. Assist in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation
  • Interface with other functional areas or external laboratories for testing and sample analysis.

Primary Job Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences or related field with 2-8 years of experience
  • Mammalian cell culture using aseptic techniques. Experience in epithelial cell lines, primary human immune cells isolation and culture techniques
  • Development and execution of ELISA assays. Experience with multiplexed ELISA assays (e.g. MSD) in serum or conditioned media is highly desirable
  • The following skill sets are a plus - Sample preparation for flow cytometry (dissociation of tissues, staining of cells). DNA/RNA extraction from cell lines and tissues and running qRTPCR
  • Experience in use of Graph Pad prism and basic knowledge of statistical analysis is a plus
  • Highly motivated and results driven individual with a passion for working in a fast-paced and evolving organization
  • Strong oral and written communication as well as excellent collaboration & interpersonal capabilities
  • Outstanding team player with ability to work effectively in groups as well as independently
