Apex Systems is looking for an Instructional Designer for one of our clients in Madison, WI.

Job Description:

This position designs innovative, high-impact and cost effective synchronous (e.g. instructor led and web based) and asynchronous (e.g. web based and self-study) learning solutions for our customers. This position will utilize current learning design/development software as to develop cutting edge interactive and engaging learning (e.g. Articulate Presenter & Storyline, Adobe Suite, Captivate). They will research trends in the learning profession, training delivery methods and identifying/implementing new techniques. They aspire to inspire and support colleagues to be innovative and creative. 


Job Responsibilities: 
• Utilize Instructional System Design models (e.g. ADDIE) to produce relevant and targeted training, specializing in Analysis, Design, and Development. 
• Gather information about learner needs, diagnoses learning and performance issues, choose and recommend appropriate solutions, and develop customer perspective. 
• Design learning and human performance solutions to meet needs; analyzing and selecting the most appropriate strategy, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact. 
• Work with/consult with Subject Matter Experts to ensure quality and accuracy of designs. 
• Create training in compliance with key processes, style guides, and templates; revise and maintain existing materials. 
• Maintain consistency and accuracy across learning solutions. 
• Coordinate and deliver the solutions developed for the intended audience. 
• Work as a professional partner and consultant when interfacing with internal customers to solve business problems in ways that meet the needs of all key stakeholders, including the learner. 
• Maintain open and streamlined communication with all staff involved in new initiatives and projects as related to training.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience in a training or education related field

• 5+ years' experience in Instructional Design and Development and a strong understanding of Adult Learning Principles

• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-performing team. Proven expertise in conducting learning and development needs assessments, solution design, development, implementation, and impact evaluation

• Demonstrated ability to measure impact of learning and human performance initiatives through industry standard methodologies

• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, efficiency and innovation in course design as applied to experiential learning, e-learning, activities, games, scenarios, role-plays, and the like

• Software expertise in Microsoft Office, Articulate Presenter, Storyline, Lectora, Adobe Suite and Captivate (or other similar development software)
