Project Manager - IT - TechOps and Safety Systems

Responsible for the management, coordination and completion of moderate to complex projects in the Information Technology department, for the TechOps division.
Oversees all aspects of projects. Communicates project status to upper management. Promotes a positive, productive team environment. Reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

* Leads one or more moderate-to-complex projects
* Must be familiar with waterfall and Agile project-management approaches
* Must manage his/her projects schedule, budget, communication, risks & issues and
o For Waterfall projects: scope, change requests
o For Agile projects: stories, backlogs, sprints, scrums, deliveries
* May, as needed, manage: resources (with HRs and upper managements assistance), vendor relationships (in collaboration with Procurement), user training (in collaboration with Business training department), team member training
* Must also manage knowledge transfer to Support team and project close-out tasks
* Sets deadlines, assigns roles and responsibilities
* Monitors and summarizes progress of project
* Prepares project status reports for upper management
* Prepare specified project documentation according to TechOps IT standards
* Monitors compliance and adherence to standards
* Builds and maintains positive work relationships with team members, Business Partners, vendors, and other departments involved in his/her projects
* Familiar with the field of technology supporting Aircraft-Maintenance: concepts, practices, and procedures
* Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
* A high degree of creativity is expected, with wide latitude given
* Leads and directs the work of others, manages assignments on his/her project
* Provides direction, tools, and process support to less senior team members or peers
* Has full knowledge in discipline of project management
* Requires moderate guidance
* Makes decisions within guidelines & policy
* Basic understanding of business principles (Aircraft-Maintenance systems, CATIA)
* Partners with Aircraft-Maintenance (Uniteds TechOps) business partners
* Ensures work is within project scope and scope gets delivered on time, on budget

* Required: At least 7 years of IT project-management experience
* Desired: 3+ years of experience managing CATIA projects (deployments, or version upgrades)
* Desired: 3+ years of experience managing projects in the aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) domain
* Desired: 3+ years managing Waterfall projects and 3+ years on Agile projects

* Project Management (PMP) certification desired
* Agile Scrum-Master certification (CSM) desired

* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, Microsoft SharePoint
