Apex Systems has a direct hire opportunity for an IT Service Delivery Manager for a financial client in Alexandria, VA.

Reporting to the Managing Director Information & Security Services, the IT Service Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the LAN, WAN, telecommunications, Help Desk, Desktops, and IT infrastructure systems. The Manager also plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, vendors, and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The IT Service Delivery Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implements all nondiscrimination and affirmative action policies, procedures, and programs within the scope of the position, ensuring access to training, promotion, employee development, and other opportunities for subordinates in a management climate of nondiscrimination.
  2. Ensures adherence to personnel policies, and sound management principles in particular, by proper hiring, assignment, training, and supervision of employees; periodic communication on job performance and thoughtful job evaluation; appropriate use of discipline and compliance with termination policy; and development of successors for key positions.
  3. Responsible to the Managing Director Information & Security Services for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the IT LAN, WAN, telecommunications, Help Desk, Desktops, and IT infrastructure systems.
  4. Directs and administers computer resource development, production management, and product support.
  5. Plans and implements quality assurance disciplines to maintain highest integrity of network security and reliability.
  6. Assures the maximum operational effectiveness of all network and IT infrastructure equipment at minimum cost .
  7. Provides technical support and recommendations for all users, anticipating unusual demands and assuring fullest support/utilization of computer resources.  Assists Managing Director Information & Security Services in establishing meaningful IT service delivery requirements consistent with goals.
  8. Responsible to the Managing Director Information & Security Services, CIRO and Security Officer for the protection and confidentiality of all data/electronic media.
  9. Maintains a current and updated disaster recovery plan and conducts an annual exercise for IT Networks
  10. Implements and maintains Firewall/Email server and Web server for Internet connectivity.
  11. Manage, interact , negotiate and perform due diligence on vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to maintain excellent relationship
  12. Assess needs for any security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
  13. Manage and ensure the security of databases and data transferred both internally and externally.
