Position Title: Lead Java Developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
 
Overview:
Within the Technology group, there is an exciting opportunity for a technical/development lead (Java/Web Services/Microservices development) who will be involved in designing, developing, implementing and supporting Java/J2EE/Spring/SOAP/REST based business services (SOA)/Microservices applications.
 
This position will be part of the development team working on several critical middleware applications. As a technical/development lead, this position will gain a strong understanding of the systems, the end to end work flow, the technical architecture and the overall business functionality.
 
This position will partner with application leads/SMEs/platform support leads to design/develop business services as microservices/miniservices. This position requires hands-on experience in coding, debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning Java applications (Web Services – SOAP/REST based interfaces, Microservices, Spring/Spring Boot framework).
 
As the development lead, key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Collaborate/partner with analysts, QA, platform support, and implementation/release management teams for technology implementation of project/business requirements
  • Ensure that the developers follow the established SDLC/tools/processes consistently.
  • Design, develop and execute overall strategy to continuously validate performance, stability, scalability, and reliability standards of the SOA/Microservices applications
  • Be the primary point of contact for handling any escalations items pertaining to application development
  • Be the primary point of contact from development team ensuring that all release level activities are completed on time for all production changes
  • Be the primary point of contact from development team for managing/addressing any production EACO incidents pertaining to applications
  • Ensure all risk management/vulnerability remediation items are addressed in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with developers to design/develop new microservices or changes to existing business services/microservices.
  • Collaborate with developers to promote performance engineering best practices to identify/fix performance issues earlier in the SDLC life cycle
  • Analyze code and suggest best practices from performance standpoint
  • Provide technical expertise to improve the performance, reliability, and resiliency of applications/systems/services

 
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 10+ years of JavaEE experience
  • 10+ years of application development experience
  • 5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a production environment
  • 5 + years of experience writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning
  • 5+ years of experience in application automation and integration

 
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of JDBC experience
  • 5+ years of JMS (Java Message Service) experience
  • 5+ years of SAST (Static Analysis Software Testing) experience
  • 5+ years of Spring experience
  • 5+ years of UNIX experience
