Junior Accessibility UX Designer

Location: South Denver

Duration: This will be a W-2 contract position through 2018 with likely extensions

  • This individual will be supporting consumer web applications for the visually and hearing impaired
  • This individual will start out as an analyst then move into more development and design
  • Analyze the code and design and test to see if there are any issues
  • You will be paired with the Sr. Architect who will be doing the development



  • Manage and schedule on-going audits for company's web and mobile applications, assessing accessibility compliance.
  • Write accessibility requirements for prototyping and development teams.
  • Test web and mobile applications using assistive technologies and create JIRA tickets for bugs and defects.
  • Track, report, and provide technical documentation and recommendations to provide accessible code for new features and to help remediate existing accessibility issues.
  • Serve as an Accessibility Subject Matter Expert and help evangelize accessibility across company's design and product teams.



  • Experience in accessibility analysis and design of web applications.
  • Experience in core web technologies and APIs (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
  • Knowledge and experience in validating web and mobile applications for WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA compliance with assistive technologies: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (OSX & iOS), and Talkback (Android).
  • Knowledge of correct use and limitations of WAI-ARIA in web application development.
  • Empathy for people with disabilities and an understanding of the different perspectives and needs of people.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with mobile application technologies and APIs.
  • Knowledge of the FCC and accessibility guidelines for telecommunications products and applications.
