Lab Supervisor
We are seeking an Analytical Lab Supervisor for our growing lab in the east valley.
The Analytical Lab Supervisor will provide leadership in his/her assigned area to support the company’s short- and long-term vision. This person will be responsible to maintain the lab by ensuring safe and efficient testing. They will improve methods and procedures of the lab. This candidate must have the ability to work cross functionally with other departments and will drive and deliver improvements through developing team members. This key role must effectively perform and oversee these activities while maintaining excellent employee relations and adhering to all quality, safety regulations, GMP’s, SQF and company policies.
Job functions:
  • Plans, monitors and participates in the day-to-day Analytical Lab functions.
  • Analyze process to resolve problems.
  • Create and implement formal Lab processes, procedures, and ongoing improvements.
  • Responsible for the safety of the Lab.
  • Ensures methods and techniques used in the lab are approved by the AOAC and/or the pet food industry standards.
  • Prepares Lab charts and graphs.
  • Ensures proper documentation.
  • Schedules maintenance services for many different types of Lab equipment.
  • Assist in creating and revising Lab SOP’s.
  • Review analytical methods and data for accuracy.

  • College Degree (Associate or Bachelor’s): in Chemistry, Biology, Math, or closely related technical field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Requires sound understanding of Chemistry.
  • Requires sound statistical analysis.
  • 2 Years of Analytical Lab experience preferred (manual and auto titrations, pH, analytical balance, glove box, drying ovens, and other techniques and equipment)
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
  • 1 Year of Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must successfully engage people from all levels of the organization.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications skills as applied to internal teams, customers, and vendors (oral & written).
  • Experience with ASTM test methods
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

  • Analytical Lab: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Supervisory: 1 year (Preferred)
