Position Summary:
A laboratory position that engages in a variety of bench top chemical manipulations, including battery test cell assembly, battery material synthesis and material characterization by various analytical techniques as part of the Energy Applications group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for performing routine chemical manipulations
  • Responsible for the operation of multiple analytical instruments including battery test equipment, thermal analysis, x-ray diffraction and microscopy
  • Responsible for battery test cell assembly
  • Responsible for learning various techniques from senior lab personnel
  • Responsible for following written procedures in an accurate, precise, and reproducible manner within Design of Experiment guidelines
  • Responsible for recording laboratory testing results through written and/or electronic documentation in a systematic fashion
  • Responsible for the use of common computer programs (e.g., word processing, excel spreadsheets, email)

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:  
A bachelor's degree in a science discipline is required. (Chemistry preferred).  5+ years experience i- battery test cell assembly a plus
  • Self starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Uses effective oral and written communication.  Uses MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and VMX to communicate all work instructions
  • Maintains flexibility and enthusiasm to work on a variety of projects in different areas

  • Can multi-task and meet all deadlines
