  • The position is for a Quality Lab Technician to perform quality testing in the aerospace sealant quality/production laboratory.
  • Candidates work will be directed by the Quality Manager and the Laboratory Lead following generally defined procedures.
  • The main function of this role is to perform quality testing on all plant products, to include raw materials and other unique tests as needed.
  • Another function includes the mixing of sealant and preparation of test specimens.
  • This role requires the scheduling of daily work, accurate documentation of results, and performance of some testing in front of an independent auditor, as needed.
  • Tuesday-Saturday 3:00am - 11:30am shift.
  • Work is to be done on-site only.


  • 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, materials science, or related technical area (or an Associates degree with 3+ additional years in an industrial laboratory)
  • Basic lab skills such as weighing, handling chemical materials, writing test reports, reading written test plans, understanding and following technical specifications, accurately recording data, and performing basic chemical calculations is a requirement
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work semi-independently with specific instructions
  • Ability to work side-by-side with others when needed
  • Ability to interact positively with others (including personnel from other departments)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Lab Skills:
  • Experience conducting mechanical testing on sealants, adhesives, coatings or other chemical products
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Adhesion testing
  • Brookfield viscosity
  • Use of a Universal Testing Machine (Instron, United or similar)
  • Design of experiments or combinatorial chemistry
  • Proficient use in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Will need to wear steel toe boots (will have to have their own)
  • Will be required to wear safety goggles
  • May have to wear respirator
