Apex Systems is looking for an Animal Laboratory Technician to work for small company located in the Greater St. Louis Area.
Responsibilities:

• Provide and document daily care to rodents. Including the feeding, watering, cleaning cages, and enrichment, observing animals and reporting findings to veterinary and animal facility manager, and sanitizing holding rooms according to SOPs.

• Maintain animal facility supplies.

• Receive, assess health of, and house incoming shipments of animals.

• Collect samples from animals, the environment, and equipment to support investigator projects or the rodent health program.

• Track and record animal usage.
 
 
Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree plus equivalent 2 year’s relevant laboratory animal research facility experience.

• Must obtain AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level (ALAT) within two years of start date.

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.

• Able to accommodate flexible work hours including assigned weekends, evenings and holidays.
