Position Description:
Our client is a Large Financial Company located in Dorchester, MA and they are looking for a Technical Lead Java Developer to fill a 6+ month contract position.
Our client is looking for a Technical Lead Java Developer to join their team building out a Fraud Detection platform.
Development will be done in Core Java (v8) and utilize messaging technology while performing multi-threaded development.
Candidate will join an existing team and work on a project that has been ongoing.
Responsibilities:
  • As a hands-on Technical Lead Java Developer, the candidate will lead team members on the implementation and integration of applications.  Candidate must be able to work independently as well as closely with other technical team members, and provide training to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Design and implement applications to meet business SLAs. Assist the dissemination of business requirements across business and IT teams
  • Ensure project work meets all contractual service levels associated with quality estimation and incident resolution
  • Candidate should be a self-starter to drive results, and partner with project management, infrastructure and other teams in the design and deployment of software solutions across the entire Software Development Life Cycle
  • Ensure projects follow specific project plans and time lines; delivers status reports, issues log and generate appropriate documentation, and ensure excellent communication within the team and cross-functionally
  • Ensure team follows standards for development tools/platforms/methodology/controls to ensure efficiency, quality and consistency in application development (Experience with teams bigger than 6 people)
  • Provide technical documentation updates to the latest enhancement or release
  • Research technologies and best practices to support continuous improvements in systems and applications quality, efficiency, ROI, etc.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience with Core Java (v7 or above)
Strong experience in middle-tier and back-end software development
Experience with messaging technology (JMS, MQ Series or similar)
Multi-threaded development experience
Strong understanding of data structures
Experience with JDBC
Experience with REST or SOAP APIs
Previous experience as a Technical Lead for large-scale software development projects
Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role):
Experience or knowledge of Core Java v8
Experience working within the Financial Services industry
Experience with Spring, Hibernate and JUnit
Experience with Oracle databases
