Full-time PRINCIPAL/SENIOR Level position located in Downtown Indianapolis

 

Once in a lifetime opportunity for a Software Architect or possibly a SEASONED Senior Software Engineer to work for our client who is defining the space in workflow process automation and communication. This individual will join a company and truly shape the direction of their principal product and develop a strong team underneath them. Huge potential, coming in at just the right time. This is a full-time direct fire opportunity with salary and compensation comparable to some of the biggest tech players in Indianapolis. 

 

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in computer science, technology, or engineering, or equivalent professional certifications or experience

 

  • 5+ years of application architecture experience and 10+ years software development experience

 

  • Demonstrated experience with building and managing high availability and highly scalable cloud environments in co-lo, AWS, Azure and/or Google

 

  • Demonstrated experience with Linux and Windows operating environments

 

  • Demonstrated experience with one or more scripting languages such as PHP, Python, JavaScript or NodeJS

 

  • Firm understanding of client-side web development, including HTML, CSS, Javascript, and one or more popular MVC frameworks such as AngularJS or React.

 

  • Comfortable working in an environment where languages and platforms may change as projects demand

 

  • Demonstrated mastery of object-oriented design principles and application of design patterns

 

  • Demonstrated experience with software issue diagnostic strategies and creation of appropriate algorithms/changes to address performance, reliability, supportability, maintainability, and extensibility

 

  • Experience in cloud architecture and design, including RESTful APIs, microservice architecture, Git, continuous integration, and automation testing

 

  • Experience in the full life cycle development process is helpful, including an understanding of requirements, architecting software, designing multi-component solutions, and developing real world applications

 

  • Experience developing applications on Linux and/or UNIX

 

  • Demonstrated experience training on code concepts within teams

 

  • Demonstrated experience of containerization (one or more): ECS, Kubernetes, Docker

 

  • Demonstrated experience of infrastructure as a service (one or more): Terraform, CloudFormation, Heat

 

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud services (several): SES, S3, Lambda, GCP, Apigee,
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering SaaS software products on time, within budget, and with high levels of quality

 

  • Demonstrated experience operating within an AGILE environment for SaaS products

 

  • Strong analytical debugging skills

 

  • Critical thinking, and reasoning

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a lead role in working with colleagues to architect, design, develop and deliver innovative solutions in support of the software product road map
  • Lead and maintain the definition of the company’s technology roadmap
  • Drive the definition of non-functional requirements, and own/define the software architecture that supports those requirements
  • Immerse in various complex code bases, understand them quickly, and develop functionalities and features in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to refine the requirements for new features with an emphasis on creating amazing user experiences
  • Actively participate in a highly collaborative agile development process to achieve cost, quality and delivery objectives
  • Balance the proposed solutions on which you are working based on localization, licensing, scalability, system resources, bandwidth, latency, automated testing, security and compliance
  • Stay current with industry developments and new trends as evidenced by a lifelong learner attitude
  • Identify and demonstrate industry best-practices for programming and the software development lifecycle. The candidate will these practices throughout the team through mentorship and by personal example.
  • Introduce new technologies and services into the software ecosystem through rigorous research efforts
  • Maintain a high proficiency level with system architecture and database system models
  • Provide full life cycle support for code changes in the production environment as introduction of new components to the existing system.
