Linux Engineer/Admin.

Location: Atlanta, GA 30306

Contract: 6 month contract to hire

Pay: negotiable depending on experience

Position Overview:

Our client's Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Laboratory is currently seeking a skilled Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) engineer with experience in security and networking. This position requires the candidate to possess an in-scope Secret DoD clearance.  Candidates must enjoy working with open source software and cutting edge technologies. Candidates will contribute to sponsored research projects and have an opportunity to work with scientists and engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of Linux environments
  • Configuration management
  • Build custom RPMs
  • Design and build a secure infrastructure
  • Write custom SELinux modules
  • Solve networking issues
  • Virtual Machine management

Primary Skills:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (3+ years)
  • Strong scripting skills bash/python/ruby (3+)
  • Networking Experience (3+)
  • Puppet (1+)

Secondary Skills:

  • Security Enhanced Linux
  • Tomcat / Oracle / Apache
  • SCAP
  • NetApp
  • Case Management
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF)


  • 1-5 years’ experience (academic, personal or professional)
  • US Citizen, no foreign ties
  • Secret Clearance Required, preference to Top Secret
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Willing to pursue advanced degree
  • Technical diagnostic expertise including problem investigation, reproduction, and resolution skills
  • Ability to acquire new skills efficiently
  • Thrives in collaborative environment
