•  Provides consultation services for Intuit business units for end to end product solutions

•  Closely works with application and solution architects in finalizing design for new projects as well as new product features.

•  Provides documentation of design and architecture details.

•  Negotiates customer requirements to align with Intuit IT standards including but not limited to systems, network, storage, database, application software stack, and monitoring.

•  Effectively influences cross functional teams to ensure levels of quality and timelines are met during the service improvement and delivery process

•  Has the flexibility to apply knowledge and experience to recommend custom solutions to business problems. Decisions can potentially have enterprise wide impact.

•  Exercises discretion and judgment to ensure all Operational Service Levels are met.

•  Follows defined processes for work flow, incident and change management, where recognizing deviation from accepted practice is required.

•  Functions as on-call or backup for other staff members to provide Level 2 or 3 support (depending on team).

•  Monitors service and incident requests and initiates services requests or change requests as appropriate

•  Coordinates and schedules operational services with customers.

•  Engages and escalates to vendors for service restitution.

•  Provides documentation of configurations, maintenance plans and project updates.


•  BS in Engineering (major in Computer science or Computer Engineering) or equivalent

•  6+ years of experience in Unix System Administration and Enterprise technologies

•  Excellent communication and negotiation skills. MBA is plus but not required

•  3+ years of experience in architecture or similar role.

•  Creativity, Innovation and Energy is a must. Self-managed and owns the outcome.




Job Requirements

•             Expert in Linux: RHEL, Oracle Enterprise Linux (various versions)

•             Expert in Virtualization technologies: ESX 5.x+  and OVM 2.x/3.x

•             Networking concepts (Layers 4 to 7): TCP/IP, Routing, Multicasting, Load Balancers (BigIP F5 LTM and GTM), and Firewalls. Layer 7 protocols.

•             Familiar with Virtualization technologies: Vmware and Xen

•             Proficiency with enterprise storage systems to include SAN & NAS, iSCSI technologies preferred.

•             Proficiency in High Availability solutions (VCS, Linux clustering, Oracle RAC)

•             Proficiency in shell scripting and programming skills (bash/perl).

•             Proficiency with Windows administration a plus.

•             Enterprise Application Concepts: Understanding of Databases, Oracle & MSSql.

•             Monitoring concepts: Spectrum, Splunk, Moogsoft, Wavefront and AppDynamics.

•             Ability to forecast and estimate compute and process capacities.
