Position Summary: 

Responsible for day-to-day logistics operations for Telecom Projects in the assigned region. Coordinate laydown yard and material logistics as well as resolve any material availability issues for Telecom projects. Coordinate support requirements with Telecom and with AEP Stores to resolve field level issues related to material flow for current and upcoming large projects. Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for various logistics operations as the need arises. 

Principal Accountabilities: 
1. Supports AEP’s Zero Harm Goal. Performs the logistics role with a high priority on safety. 

2. Performs multiple functions within an organization's Telecommunications department. This is a culture of high involvement and agility, where employees collaborate to foster mutual care for one another and demonstrate a shared commitment to common goals. 

3. Coordinates the transportation of materials, plans deliveries, and performs lay down yard inventory control. 

4. Collects, organizes and disseminates information to various parties. Participate on a team that will work together to maximize logistical results; communicate internally and externally with customers and vendors concerning related issues. 

5. Ensures the right products are delivered to the right location on time, using the proper shipping methods. Works collaboratively with stores, construction, operations, project teams and business unit teams to determine proper shipping locations for Telecom materials to keep disruption to material flow at a minimum. 

6. Actively attends and participates in status meetings to ensure that all material needs and logistics are being met. 

7. Monitors the flow of goods from the vendor to the lay down yards, storerooms or job sites using the expediter notepad in asset suite and working with Telecom’s expediter. 

8. Acts as a liaison to communicate with appropriate personnel to ensure that material is correctly accounted for and delivered. 

9. Assists Telecom Ops, Engineering, Construction and Supply Chain Operations personnel with issues, transfers, receipts, etc. 

10. Establishes and builds trust with business unit partners and all areas of the Supply Chain to work collaboratively across departments to achieve shared business objectives and performance targets. 

11. Continuously reviews materials management processes and make recommendations for improvement. 

12. Monitors the results of measures and take appropriate corrective action needed to ensure that Supply Chain and Business Unit goals are achieved. 

13. Uses specialist knowledge and IT systems to provide logistics services for Telecommunications teams. 
14. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish logistics goals. Performs a variety of tasks using a wide degree of creativity and latitude. 

Minimum Requirements : Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain/Procurement, or Accounting/Finance and 2 years’ experience in Supply Chain, distribution, transmission, generation or related business experience; or Associate’s Degree (in one of the same disciplines) and 4 years of experience in supply chain, distribution, transmission, generation or related business experience; or a High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of experience in supply chain, distribution, transmission, generation or related business experience; 

Other Requirements: 

1. Actively promotes and supports the company’s Accident Prevention and Safety and Health Programs. 
2. Must have good oral and written communication skills. 
3. Must be available to provide assistance for emergency material requirements for service restoration – an Incident Command Structure role. 
4. Required travel when necessary. 
5. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. 
6. Must have the ability to operate the computer systems utilized by the Material Management Organization. 
7. Must have mechanical aptitude. 
8. You must be able to operate Microsoft Office and be familiar with any other software pertinent to your industry; being Microsoft Office Certified would be preferred. 
9. Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple AEP Telecom portfolios and projects. 
10. Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software 
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
12. Experience in customer service will be appreciated. 
13. Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities 
14. Track and analyze mis-shipments to ensure they don’t occur again. 
15. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. 
16. Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions.

 

ServiceNow and Asset Suite

material procurement, warehouse experience, understand how material flows, sliding timelines, multiple projects, professional communication, liaison between partners and distribution, telecom background is a nice to have, problem solver, has to be a self-starter

4-7 years of Experience.Coordinate all activities connected to the goods circulation by interfering in the following fields: programming and forecasting, supply, production, material handling, packaging, stock control, warehousing, and distribution until the delivery to final customer.
