Position title is MAINFRAME SYSTEMS ENGINEER.

•  2 Years Demonstrated experience with evaluation and integration of new technologies within a WAS support environment on the mainframe

o  2 years experience with Websphere Application Server (WAS) on multiple platforms

o  Performance monitoring experience with IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) and IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) Preferred

o  2 years experience within a Websphere Application Server (WAS) technical support team providing system programming, installation, configuration, maintenance and general production support

 

o  Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime which includes all shifts, weekends and holidays.

o  Analyze and resolve WAS related issues and problems

o  Deploy applications

o  Work with other infrastructure, application, engineering, database administration and operation teams on projects and day-to-day problems. 

o  Assist in the coding and support of various UNIX scripts for WAS support.

o  Assist with creation, development, and enforcement of WAS on zOS operational standards.

o  Work with vendors to solve problems

o  Develop a proactive health check process

o  Support z/OS Unix System Services (USS) and Websphere environments.

o  Provide off hours support for Disaster Recovery planning and testing.

o  Provide 24 hours support 7 days per week during rotational assignment

o  Implement and maintain security and control policies, procedures and standards

o  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of installed Hardware and Software products.

o  Provide customer support by addressing trouble tickets providing levels 1, 2 and 3 support.

o  Other duties as assigned.
