Apex Systems is working with a progressive, global leader in the coatings industry who is growing and planning for their future.  We are looking for a Manager Compliance and Regulaory.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 10-15 years' of experience who wants to make an impact in the plastics industry. 
This position is located in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Summary Job Description:
The Manager is responsible for enhancing business growth and market development activities by building and nurturing working relationships with outside US based organizations such as trade organizations, governmental regulatory agencies, elected officials, and professional associations. This position will be the public face to the industry and regulatory agencies and serve as the liaison on CSR activities with the corporate office in Japan.
Essential Functions:
  • Works with regulatory agencies, standards organizations, and elected representatives; serves as a contact with the EPA and FDA, as needed, and works closely with client's Global CSR Team and Business Teams, legal counsel in Washington, DC and outside test laboratories to expedite regulatory approvals and compliance requirements and protect key Fluoroproducts Businesses
  • Maintains active membership and role in industry associations. Participates on committees to ensure appropriate representation of client's interests both domestically and globally
  • Works with Japan on global CSR activities; reports to Japan on CSR activities.
  • Supports market development projects in support of client's long-range growth plans as assigned. 
  • Signs TSCA control forms for all imports into US and EAR export documents as necessary.
  • Provides regulatory guidance for entry of client's products into new markets within the Region (product & geographic)

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or related technology required, advanced degree preferred
  • Established reputation in the chemicals and/or plastics industries
  • Ten to fifteen years working knowledge, chemical/materials technology experience, and business management experience
  • EPA/FDA regulatory experience preferred
  • Willing to travel extensively, up to 60%; includes international travel
