Apex Systems, the 2nd largest IT staffing firm in the nation, is looking for multiple contract manual QA Analysts for one of our financial clients in Salt Lake City.  This will be for a long-term project.  Qualified candidates will need banking experience, specifically Deposits. 


Responsible for leading testing efforts (creating test plans, test cases, leading other team members) and increasing testing efficiencies through developing automated test scripts or programs.



  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar field.
  • Candidates with appropriate experience but without a bachelors degree may be considered
  • 4+ years experience in software testing.
  • Familiar with the SDLC and QA practices
  • Experience creating test plans, creating and executing test cases, turning identified automation opportunities into reality.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience testing web and/or client server applications
  • Experience testing mainframe applications desired
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking procedures and industry testing methodologies
  • Ability to communicate ideas and turn these ideas into results.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of completing projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new environments and applications quickly
  • Demonstrated creativity and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a cross functional team based environment.



  • Experience with mainframe
  • Experience using test automation tools and practices
  • Experience leading other test analysts
  • Experience with relational database management system, preferably Oracle
  • Experience in a financial institution.
