Job Description:

The Master Data Management (MDM) Lead is responsible for maintaining the MDM function within Supply Chain. Quality data management is at the heart of Supply Chain Management's ability to turn item data into an asset. Only standardized, non-duplicated, accurate and complete data can effectively serve global operations.

The MDM Lead will provide standards, governance and stewardship, data processes, and will oversee global item cataloging. The MDM Lead maintains 'big picture' thinking, taking direct action to ensure the company achieves and maintains world class data quality, enhancing operational buying, materials management, category management, and spend analytics within the company.


  • Responsible for the Integrity of Materials Master Data.
  • Ongoing Maintenance and Management of the MDM portion of the ERP system.
  • Ongoing cleansing and Normalization of the Data.
  • Ongoing duplication check and Distributor Cross-Referencing.
  • Prepare Master Data load files and/or manually input the changes directly into ERP system.
  • Responsible for developing standards, guidelines, processes and expertise to consistently address recurring master data issues.
  • Engaging and collaborating with leaders and peers in evolving Master Data Management within the organization's applications and processes
  • Monitor recurring exception reports and initiate data clean-up opportunities
  • Integration with other Business Systems while working closely with IT.
  • Provides UAT testing of the system when new patches are released in production.
  • Establishes Standardized Processes and Procedures
  • Reporting and Measurement.
  • Works with end users on material standardization opportunities.
  • Creation of standardized templates used to guide the end-user through the item creation process.
  • Utilize any of the major global cataloguing standards, USC, eOTD, MESC, UNSPSC, etc
  • Communicates with Compliance to insure material data is sufficient to provide ECCN Codes for proper exporting/importing of material
  • Uses knowledge of the system to help develop better efficiencies within the system.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferably 5 years' experience in Upstream Oil & Gas Preferably
  • 3 years' experience in Master Data Management and/or Materials/Inventory Management projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Is very details-oriented, able to look thoroughly through extensive data sets (thousands of items) determining patterns and issues
  • Ability to analyze varying stakeholder concerns, proactively working with diverse groups to address concerns and build consensus
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Is willing to travel up to 25% of the time to Noble locations worldwide
  • (Desirable) Experience with Oracle 11 environment and Master Data Management module. (or other ERP system)
