Apex Systems is looking for a trusted resource as a Maximo Programmer/Developer.  With Experience administering Maximo SAS


We are looking for a Maximo Programmer/Developer. This is a client facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers.

Skills Description:

  • Support Maximo Environments, including WebSphere applications.
  • Experience installing IBM Installation Manager, WebSphere ND, HTTP Server and Tivoli Process Automation Engine (TPAE).
  • Experience configuring WebSphere in a clustered environment and HTTP Server.
  • Understanding requirements and preparing technical specifications documentation
  • Design and code Maximo including plug-ins that meet product specifications and development schedule.
  • Working closely with COA developers and other leads during development and support of this asset management application
  • Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Performing technical analysis, creating designs, and identifying impacts (functional/technical)
  • Test and debug assigned components and units.
  • Participate in large system and subsystem planning.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provides customer support.
  • Advise on characteristics that affect application systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of relational structures, dimensional data modeling, Structured Query Language (SQL) skills
  • Ability to build and debug/maintain complicated SQL queries is desired
  • Experience working with the full life cycle development process, which includes analysis, design, construction, and testing
  • Desirable Technical Skills – IBM certification
  • Hands-on experience of design, implement, migrate and upgrade large enterprise asset management solutions/platform/architecture
  • Mandatory Functional Skills - Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with project management and systems development life cycle processes, tools, concepts and methodologies

  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.5to V7.6 upgrade
  • Knowledge and experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.5 infrastructure components
  • Knowledge and experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.5 functionality
  • Knowledge and experience with asset and work management lifecycle
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with application servers upgrades and support (WebSphere Application Server and WebLogic Server)
  • Knowledge and experience with the supply chain functionality
  • Knowledge and experience with Maximo application designer
  • Knowledge and experience Maximo configuration related modules.
  • Knowledge and experience with operating systems, networking, and firewall concepts
  • Knowledge and experience with XML
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL databases such as DB2, Oracle and SQL Server
  • Knowledge and experience with security (SSL, data encryption, system user accounts, directory servers)
  • Knowledge and experience with protocols including HTTP, SMTP and LDAP
  • Knowledge and experience with developing Maximo BIRT reports


  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and consultative skills with a proven ability to express ideas, concepts, technology approaches, etc. in business compelling language
  • Strong documentation skills  and experience writing Design Documents in compliance with the project delivery methodology
  • Strong interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, peers, supervisors, and internal customers.
  • Quick learning and ability to function with little supervision.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English well.
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with the following Maximo V7.5 infrastructure components and functionality
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Eclipse (Maximo Developer)
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SQL Developer
  • At least 3-5 years of hands on experience with Maximo application designer
  • At least 3-5 years of hands on experience with Maximo configuration related modules.
  • Ability to read and analyze report specifications prepared by business analysts.
  • Capability to interpret database schema documentation including entity-relationship diagrams.
  • Ability to develop, test, and promote system changes.
  • Understanding of GUI standards and GUI evolution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and some technical training.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, architecture, design, & software development best practices with proven success in implementing enterprise-level applications and leading a team of developers.
  • Must be a self-starter and drive key processes from conception to completion while working well in a team environment.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skill.
