Mechanical Test Technician 

12 Month Contract  - W2 Contract 

Client: Fortune 50 Tech Client 

Santa Clara, CA 

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Job Description:

  • Mechanical test on battery and battery components
  • Prepare batteries for test, including use of mild solvents like IPA
  • Assemble batteries into carriers if needed
  • Perform mechanical and electrical measurements on devices according to SOPs
  • Support SOP development with repeated measurements, pictures, data collection
  • Communicate issues observed in samples, process, or documentation to supervisor
  • Enter data into database
  • Adhere to safety protocol and lab guidelines
  • Support failure analysis efforts, as guided by engineers
  • Job duties may require additional work like assisting in organizing of inventory
  • Accurately record/prepare test results and data analysis
  • Report status on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Required technical skills:

  • Follow established procedures on routine work
  • Update daily on activities and work plan
  • Enter data into database, ensuring that samples are correctly tracked
  • Prepare sample materials in fume hood
  • Ensure samples are sent to appropriate personnel
  • Familiarity with proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices
  • Experience with general office programs, particularly Excel
  • Meticulous organization, strong attention to detail

Desirable technical skills:

  • Experience operating measurement equipment and custom data acquisition equipment
  • Experience with collecting large amounts of data, data storage and data manipulation
  • Able to effectively contribute to a dynamic and often fast-paced, high-pressure work environment
