The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails.


CLIENT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. CLIENT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas. The FDIC Enterprise network provides its engineers with access to a plethora of cutting-edge technologies in the network field. It has a state of the art development lab to test new functionality, architectures, and equipment. Engineers are tasked with developing and deploying innovative solutions to meet business requirements - not managing day to day, same technology operations.

CLIENT seeks an Active Directory Engineer for the CLIENT/FDIC Engineering team. US Citizenship is required. Background Investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background.

This is a 24x7x365 Operations role and requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours and weekends as needed.Successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical skills and engineering attitude for success, dedication and commitment.


  • Subject Matter Expert capable to articulate expertly solutions through written or verbal methods. 
  • Be able to trouble shoot complex problems quickly and effectively.
  • Plan, design, implementation and maintain compute, storage and network infrastructure to support multiple Enterprise -locations
  • Providing configuration management and security compliance for the virtual infrastructure software and hardware
  • Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to expedite incident resolution.
  • • Support the engineering requirements of Legacy/On-Prem enterprise applications and develop Cloud migration solutions

    • Perform technical diagramming, configuration, scripting, testing, and integration activities as required for successful migration

    • Document current state and target state architectures in support of migration

    • Document environment logistics and settings for successful transition to the Operations Team

    • Attend meetings and working sessions to further migration objectives

    •  Leverage advanced listening, speaking, and writing skills to participate in conversations

    • Troubleshoot and problem solve to re-mediate issues prohibiting migration or uncovered by migration

    • Participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot critical issues

    • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures; contribute to and maintain system standards, policies, and procedures.

    •  Follow best practices to adhere to enterprise architecture.

  • Provides leadership and/or direction and/or supervision to lower level employees and teams
  • Accountable to lead and guide the completion of major programs and projects
  • Participates as a Subject Matter Expert in technical and business discussions with clients, teammates, vendors, partners and /or upper level managers
  • Ability to manage and/or lead cross-functional teams for customer engagements
  • Proven success oriented professional attitude


  • BS or equivalent and nine years related experience, or MS and seven years related experience
  •   In depth knowledge of public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Cloud Foundry, Softlayer or other major vendors of public and Gov cloud
  •  Strong CLI and API scripting (Power Shell, Bash, Python) and automation skills (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet experience)
  • Understanding of AD identity life cycle, and account migration
  • Understanding of Active Directory LDAP.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications and technologies that are within the scope of this engineering role, such as:
  • Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM)
    • Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM)
    • Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS)
    • Microsoft Distributed File System Replication (DFSR)
    • Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM)/Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
    • Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG)/Microsoft Web Application Proxy (WAP)
    • Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS)
    • Single Sign On and Federation (SAML, OAuth, Security Tokens, Web Services)
    • Microsoft File/Print services
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of Active Directory, DNS and other Windows core services.
  • Knowledge and experience with designing, deploying and maintaining HPE DL / BL / c7000 computational resources
  • Knowledge and experience with HPE One View management platform

Desired active certificates:

  • AWS Certification and Microsoft Azure Certification and will have prior to start date.
  • ITIL® Foundation Level Certification.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise IT environments, tools, data management policies and architectures, and organizations.
  • Experience with IT service management best practices.
