existing team members to install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, maintain, analyze, automate, secure and recommend Oracle Applications Express (APEX) and OFM software and solutions; perform, coordinate and troubleshoot code deployments/outage response; develop and document internal procedures, configurations, end-user documentation, informational presentations and best practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Routinely upgrade the Oracle Fusion Middleware and APEX environments to new versions and apply security patches
  • Deploy customer code (sometimes outside of business hours)
  • Assist customers and developers with troubleshooting and recommendations
  • Respond to outages of the environment and correct issues
  • Perform APEX database instance configuration, create of application APEX workspace and users, perform password resets


Qualifications:

  • BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience
  • At least 2 years WebLogic 12 AND/OR Oracle Fusion Middleware (11g/12c)  administration experience
  • Recent administration experience with APEX 18.x and ORDS 18.x (deployed under WLS or Tomcat)
  • Installation, upgrades and patching via oPatch
  • Deployments and configuration via WebLogic console
  • Comfortable administrating applications and software in Linux (preferably Red Hat) command-line environment
  • Able to use Linux commands and tools to troubleshoot issues, parse and evaluate log files, etc
  • Ability to write and revise bash/ksh scripts
  • Understanding of managed servers/domains and NodeManager, connection pools, JMS modules, etc
  • WLST scripting
  • Recent experience with administration of Oracle database 12c or higher, including installation, backup and recovery, password changes, etc
  • understanding of Oracle’s mod_pl_sql and procedural APIs APEX applications can call
  • Experience with how to set up and reference an Oracle wallet to be used by APEX applications
  • Basic knowledge of Apache/OHS configuration directives (Location, LocationMatch, others)
  • Willing to participate in on-call pager rotation and serve as Tier III technical support
  • Able to pass standard criminal background and credit check
  • Able to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred to have

  • Basic understanding of the java language – common class files, command line configuration options, ability to interpret Java errors in log files
  • Experience working with Discover, OHS, Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Experience migrating applications from OFM 11g to 12c
  • Experience migrating PLSQL/DADS applications to ORDS
  • Experience working with OFM and/pr APEX in a large, load-balanced/distributed/clustered environment
  • Experience developing APEX applications

Nice to have

  • 1-2 years Apache HTTP server and/or Apache Tomcat administration experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience with LAMP/WAMP stack installation, upgrade, configuration, troubleshooting, code deployments and support
  • 1 year administration experience with Drupal 7 8
  • Familiarity with ArcSight or Splunk log management tools
  • Experience working with federal government customers
  • Within commuting distance of the RTP NC area
  • Familiarity as end-user with Confluence, MediaWiki, Remedy
  • Experience developing java applications; ability to review evaluate java code for security vulnerabilities and good coding practices
