Summary

Works with a team of network engineers that performs work necessary to design, develop, manage, and maintain our corporate network platforms, by carrying out the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with team members, and management to analyze short and long-term network needs and recommends solutions to prepare the network for foreseeable growth.
  • Works with the team in designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining LAN/WAN equipment, circuits, and related services.
  • Plans, coordinates, and assists in the removal, replacement, upgrade, and repair of existing or aging equipment and programs as required.
  • Interfaces proactively with Systems Admin, Application, Device, and Project Management groups to support upgrades, installation, or maintenance of new network services.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems.
  • Designs, creates, manages, sets standards, and documents systems and services in support of corporate networks, including routers, switches, VPN’s, firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, network security systems, network monitoring tools, wireless devices, data circuits, etc.
  • Proactively monitors and evaluates network performance, system logs, and reports to resolve network problems, minimize business slowdowns and interruptions, and architect infrastructure improvements.
  • Provides after hours and/or on-call support for network and associated platforms.
  • Assists with development, documentation, and testing of disaster recovery plans.

  • Hands-on experience implementing and administrating network devices:
    • Cisco Firewalls
    • Cisco and Brocade network switches
    • Cisco Routers
    • Ruckus wireless products and controllers
    • F5 Load Balancers
    • Experience implementing and administrating BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, OSPF and other routing protocols.
  • Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
  • Exposure to VMware technologies
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
