Required Education, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years networking experience
  • Cisco certifications or other Networking certifications
  • On hand technical knowledge or networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools:  Solarwinds, Extrahop, Cisco DNA, Infoblox, etc.
  • Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware: Cisco 9k switches, Palo Alto 5000 series firewalls, Aruba and Cisco wireless technologies, etc.

  • CCNA or relevant working experience
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Skills in automation languages are a plus: python, java, perl, etc

Responsibilities Without restricting the generality of this job description, the Network Engineer shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to, the following:
  • Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of division networks
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components
  • Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands
  • Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks
  • Install and configure all network hardware and equipment
  • Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements
  • Be knowledgeable about and supportive of Administrative Procedures and directives
  • Perform other duties as may be required of assigned by the Manager of Information Systems
