Job Title: Network Engineer

Work Location: Atlanta, GA

Rate: Based on previous experience

Work Hours: Would be more project or situation specific (e.g., outage – thus would be more flexible)

Hire-Type: Temp to Perm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage core IP network activities in the organization including network design, traffic management and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Establish network procedures and management protocols to ensure network design is implemented according to design and engineering standards.
  • Generate performance reports and design documentation for production systems as well as project-based work.
  • Perform network lab testing to vet and explore network configurations, device compatibility, optimizations, problem resolution as well as new equipment evaluation.
  • Initiate and lead engineering projects as needed to drive and implement engineering initiatives.
  • Design, operate and manage multiple remote datacenters.
  • Engage in change management process with peer review for network change risk evaluation and quality control.
  • Generate procedures and documentation for operations team to perform for regular maintenance and changes of network touchpoints.
  • Mentor and guide operations team to enhance skillsets and knowledge across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience providing technical expertise to other support staff as required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience tele-communications infrastructure, telecommunications engineering best practices; TCP/IP, routing protocols, network switching, Internet and Intranet systems, and SNMP based network management systems; including efforts that require in-depth technical knowledge of local area communications and analyzing network performance.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours in support of maintenance activities.
