OBIEE Support Engineer
Location: Charlotte or Minneapolis
Duration: 1 Year
 
Provides leadership to technical systems support projects within a technology organization.  Duties are varied and may include one or more of the following:
Participates in the development of technical support strategies and plans; acts as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and process re-engineering to improve delivery, support and governance process execution
Provides technical expertise for technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services
Oversees the creation of diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and/or restore service or data to systems
Leads support projects and migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and/or configurations
Leads efforts to troubleshoot network, hardware and software issues and coordinates resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups; assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas
Oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan; provides direction or guidance to less experienced staff
7+ years systems support analysis experience. 
 
Additional Job Details: 
This position is responsible for providing application and platform support for systems on the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform. This involves supporting test through production, while performing a hands-on role responsible for automating validation of patching and upgrades. Additionally, planning and implementing remediation of errors and vulnerabilities, and keeping systems highly available and performing optimally. Consuming applications supported are both customer facing and internal, all highly critical for business analytics and reporting, and supporting the strategic wholesale international branches. Also providing oversite of Autosys batch jobs, supporting release management teams, partnering with the WebLogic middleware teams to for scheduled patches, upgrades and technology refresh are day-to-day responsibilities. May serve as a point of contact for escalations and to Oracle vendor to verify compatibility for software upgrades on the Client stack and will manage changes throughout the test environments following application life cycle methodology. Can be an escalation point for development and production support teams for reports and code fixes, and responsible for updates to automation scripts and Business Continuity exercises for high availability of the reporting platform.
 
 
Will be part of an on-call rotation for production support, assigned US, Eastern, Business hours. Occasional weekend work is required to support major releases.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Drive resolution of production incidents
  • Partner with Development teams to pursue automation of manual tasks and ensure that chronic issues are being addressed pragmatically
  • Assist with creation and updating of support documentation
  • Responding to user/business requests for information
  • Supports application Technology audit, risk execution and compliance requests
  • Partnering with offshore production support peers
  • Minimize duration and severity of impact from incidents Required Skills 2 + years of experience in Oracle Fusion platform design and development 2+ years of OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) experience Other Desired Skills
    •Ability to interact effectively at varying levels of the business and technical organizations, including management
  • 7+ years of application operational support processes with an ITIL framework
  • 5+ years experience supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware and Enterprise manager
  • 3+ years supporting OBIEE applications
  • 5+ years experience with Problem and/or Change Management software such as Remedy or PAC2000
  • Clear understanding of RedHat Linux and Weblogic highly available clustered servers and Business Continuity best practices
  • Well-versed in collaboration using tools like Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint
  • Prior experience in financial institutions on middleware or production support teams
