Progress Developer - ASE6 
Location: Irving, Texas
Performs coding, testing, documentation and debugging for projects of moderate complexity using Progress OpenEdge. Creates new code and modifies existing code in compliance to approved requirements and detail specifications. Applies judgment in devising program logic and adapting standard programming procedures. Obtains advice when specifications are unclear or unavailable.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs programming, coding, testing, documentation updates for moderate to complex projects.
  • Performs troubleshooting and debugging activity providing analysis of problems and recommended solutions to resolve errors in logic and code.
  • Provides programming support for code releases.
  • Works independently or on team projects as needed.

Required Skills:
  • OpenEdge Architect, Hands on experience with Progress, Open Edge 11, and UNIX all required
  • Special Skills required: Effective written and oral communication skills; display the ability to assume responsibility for increasingly complex assignments; close attention to detail; reason clearly and logically with symbolic information; Ability to identify and conceptualize information needs. Demonstrate time management skills
  • Special knowledge required; Understanding of procedures, practices, principles, emerging trends and terminology of structured programming languages; basic understanding of relational databases; basic understanding of web services and supporting technologies; proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Progress, C, VB, Java, JavaScript.
  • 7+ years’ in Progress development
  • Enterprise level experience
