Role: Oracle Developer 

Location: San Antonio, TX

Duration: 6-18 Month Contract 

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports all aspects of the software development life cycle process, including needs definition, requirements analysis, resource estimating, software design and documentation, coding and unit-testing.
  • Prepare and present project status reports and statistics to management, customer and others as required.
  • Use knowledge of business processes to make technical recommendations to customers for process improvements.
  • Uses various Oracle tools to develop new, and maintain existing, applications in support of the Air Force Personnel Center records management system.
  • Performs defect correction, including root cause analysis, on pending and production releases.
  • Assists team members and contributes to collaborative knowledge sharing.

 

Mandatory Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field of Study or 10 years related job experience with the following skills.
  • Expert skills in creating and maintaining complex Oracle SQL queries and Oracle database objects, such as procedures, functions, triggers and packages.
  • Expert skills developing and maintaining applications using Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.
  • Highly skilled troubleshooting experience with extensive and complex Oracle and UNIX problems and anomalies.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Subject matter expert in Air Force Human Resources and personnel records management processes.
  • Basic skills in working with UNIX or Linux environments, including shell scripting.
  • Basic skills in source code management tools such as StarTeam, CVS or Git.
  • Self-starter, motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
