Engagement Engineer

6+ month contract

Onsite- Raleigh, NC

Primary job responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert on partner portal and Container Catalog navigation
  • Manage Partner interaction with the web portal via email and video calls.
  • Technical assessment of parter templates and files.
  • Maintain regular communications with the partner while in the product certification cycle.
  • Work with partner portal technical team to troubleshoot site issue and track resolution
  • Create and maintain documentation and FAQs with an eye on self serviceability.
  • Track and maintain partner pipeline mapped to the company's technical adoption and certification campaigns
  • Work within the Connect Partner Program to use and improve all operations, processes, and systems to improve the partner experience.
  • Assist partners with information, content, resources, tools, and relationships to increase their stickiness with our programs and solutions
  • Provide valuable feedback internally to product managers, program campaigns, platform teams on wins and losses across the pipeline for the purpose of creating additional value or issue resolution
  • Be willing to create content via blogs, posts, social media, podcasts, or other means to create visibility and networking in the ecosystem
  • Build a sense of trust with partners and serve as their advocate


Required skills

  • Customer facing skills balanced with technical aptitude is a must.
  • 2 years of experience as a support engineer or similar technical role.
  • Experience with Linux, preferably a Red Hat variant (RHEL, CentOS, Fedora) including installation, configuration and upgrade is highly favorable.
  • Must be comfortable using a text editor and the linux command line and using common tools like ssh, cURL and git.
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and projects while maintaining a attention to detail
  • Ability to advocate for a partner within Red Hat while setting expectations for the partner accordingly.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain/document complicated or disparate information for partners into a clear and concise set of instructions
  • Be detail-oriented, systematic, and organized
  • Maintain situational awareness in a dynamic environment; our program is always evolving as it expands and your knowledge of it needs to keep up
  • Have experience seeing projects through to completion independently
  • Have good people skills and enjoy problem solving (via email, phone, and in-person).
  • Possess a reliable work ethic and an eagerness to learn
  • An understanding of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is huge plus
  • An interest in Technical Marketing would also be helpful
  • A sense of humor will come in very handy
