Apex Systems' client is looking for a Patch Tools Administrator to sit onsite in downtown Atlanta! This is a contract to hire opportunity with a new team to address an MRA and ongoing audit concerns. 
The ideal candidate will have knowledge in system administration and sever patching concepts (preferably Red Hat Linux and Microsoft). Scripting skills in VB, Powershell, or Shell are also required. It is a major plus if you are familiar with BigFix!

Required Skills:

• Intermediate knowledge in system administration and server patching concepts (preferably Red Hat Linux and Microsoft).

• Intermediate scripting skills (VB, Powershell or Shell for UNIX/Linix)

• Strong willingness to learn usage of patch tools and develop custom scripts to assist in vulnerability and patch remediation.

• Written and oral communication skills.

• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot table, conditional formatting, reporting, etc.).

• Strong understanding of workflow and processes.

• Ability to research and provide solutions to the team.

• Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental hardware and software principles, concepts, and techniques.

• Intermediate system administration skills

• Knowledge in information systems and ability to apply that knowledge in practice. 

• Written and oral communication skills.

• Team building skills
Responsibilities:

• Ensure security updates are applied to servers according to patching policy and provide reports to management with most-recent updates (track and report on progress)

• With ample on-the-job training, assist in the creation of custom scripts to remediate vulnerabilities.

• Coodinate activities associated with patch scheduling and vulnerability remediation.

• Serve as change agent by driving successful process improvement practices, by diagnosing barriers to RFC success; and by facilitating resolution as appropriate.

• Liaise with with department leaders, project managers, software development, executives, and lines of business (LOBs) to coordinate change building, testing and implementation in accordance with schedules.

• Advise line-of-business clients on information security requirements, compliance responsibilities, and methods to protect bank resources and sensitive information.

• Participate in team projects or manage individual projects implementing processes and procedures to execute them efficiently and effectively.
