Apex Systems has an Immediate Need for a hard-working individual who wants to work in a GMP setting for a global leader in diagnostics.  Ideal candidates will have previous GMP experience, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply!  The client is highly motivated to fill this position and plan to start someone immediately.

Labeling Technican

Position Summary

Responsible for labeling, packaging and inspecting all products in compliance with GMP’s and company's policies and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Verifies that all batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and specifications are up-to-date and reflect current procedures.
  • Assures that all operations are performed according to SOP’s and procedures and reports any deviations from these procedures to manager.
  • Performs and documents line clearances before each operation.  Performs reconciliation’s and reports discrepancies immediately to supervisor.  Disposes of damaged, rejected or residual components according to SOP’s.
  • Provides and verifies training on the proper use of all applicable Batch Records, SOP’s and specifications.  Assures that all Batch Records are accurately completed.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures and insures that all safety equipment is properly maintained.
  • Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines and conducts work in a safe manner.
  • Maintains all working areas in a clean and orderly state.  Assure that products are stored and segregated and clearly labeled.
  • Reports product complaints (both internal and external) promptly.
  • Identifies quality problems to supervisor and recommends solutions.
  • Provides back-up in other areas as required.
  • Assures that all equipment is used in a safe manner and that all safety procedures are followed. 
  • Assures that all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and validated prior to use.
  • Practices Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing duties.
  • Impact of errors – Delay in product testing, production, customer complaints or service level required by the customer.  Knowledge of defects and errors likely to be in non-conforming components/kits and how to prevent them.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certifications, license requirements)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in diagnostics/pharmaceutical industry or knowledge of lab equipment
  • Knowledge of GMP’s, SOP’s, and batch records.
  • Knowledge of computer procedures for data entry
  • Ability to manually package kits
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Excellent attendance required
