Works in a variety of settings and roles, optimizing the overall efficiency of businesses and other organizations. In production operations (packaging, processing, and electrical controls), work in their cell partners driving plant-wide upgrades, enhancements, and best practice roll-outs.  Devotes time to identify beneficial opportunities for applying new technology to the process.  Tracks plant KPI’s and looks for opportunities to drive meaningful productivity, quality and safety improvements.  Partners with project management office, product formulation, quality, packaging engineering, corporate engineering, EHS, and facilities organizations to drive projects to closure. Champions the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and performance reporting system.  Drives planner and scheduler performance to ensure efficient work planning and completion by the site engineering technician groups.  Drives groups toward implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Responsible for helping to achieve strategies and goals of becoming the world class, low cost/high quality producer of choice. 

1. Drives the reliability of the production equipment for the facility.  Develops and maintains layered reporting to ensure issues are captured and loss drivers are driven downward.  Develops and maintains sustainable actions to support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) pillars.  Ensures that CMMS is utilized and provides broad feedback for improvement.  Oversees CMMS work planning and scheduling functions and seeks opportunities for process improvements.  Monitors and analyzes equipment effectiveness measures such as MTBF (Mean Time before Failure), MTTF (Mean Time to Repair), and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Performs periodic audits of control systems effectiveness to ensure desired results are achieved.  Utilizes advanced lean techniques such as RCA (Root Cause Analysis), 5-Why’s, FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), to drive incremental improvements to the business. 30%
2. Monitors KPI (Key Performance Indicator) performance and develops new technology proposals to assist in improving performance.  Writes, justifies and implements capital projects across the plant.  Actively seeks best practices from other industries and ensures broad implementation across manufacturing facilities.  Seeks industry certifications and affiliations to broaden visibility to possible best practices that could be suited to our business. 20%
3. Develops facility and environmental performance metrics.  Looks for facility savings opportunities and maintains scorecards of KPI performance.  Drives projects that will have meaningful impacts on the KPI’s.  Seeks opportunities for Mary Kay to lead the industry with regards to green reporting, recognizing improvements in environmentally sustainable efforts. 20%
4. Drives continuous improvement initiatives for breakdowns, CAPA’s, repeat offenders.  Ensures that RCA’s are completed in order to drive issues to complete control and resolution.  Communicates outwardly with engineering partners and aligns on 10%
5. Develops and maintains certified equipment documentation for the facility.  Approves equipment changes and facilitates updates as needed.  Ensures that validated equipment remains in an up-to-date form through controlling and updating qualification documentation as appropriate.  10%
6. Maintains an awareness of Government Agency compliance, i.e., FDA, OSHA, city code compliance, etc., regarding such items as process validation, micro elimination, and effluent waste treatment. 5%
7. Assists in the implementation of the commissioning, qualification and validation process for all system/equipment modifications and additions. 5%


Education:  Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, process, packaging or industrial engineering. 
Experience: 10+ years of experience in engineering project management in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical or food industry.

7. Able to demonstrate scale-up and commercialization experience
8. Ability to develop excellent written and oral communication skills required
9. Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally overnight approximately 10-20% of the time.
