Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within program management. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a unit/department head.
* 40% - Lead and manage projects as assigned, both tactical and strategic
* 40% - Deliver high quality artifacts and outcome through all phases of PMLC including Envision, Design, Build, and Activate as needed to realize measurable business results
* 10% - Coach, guide, train project team members and other PMs on EDBA, PMLC and related artifacts and deliverables
* 10% - Assist team members and research operational and performance data to provide statistics, trends, and reporting that inform leadership steering and decision-making, and as assigned
* Undergraduate degree in business, technical, or aviation related discipline required
* Project Management (PMI) Certification (Preferred)
* Lean Six Sigma certification (Preferred)
* Experience managing multiple large, complex projects across multiple functions
* Experience managing and mentoring project management staff
* Proven expertise successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
* Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership
* Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
* Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
* Exposure with change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
* Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
* Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for project teams
* Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
* Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

* Demonstrated successful execution using SDLC, PMLC, DMAIC or DFSS methodology

* Has discretion in making tactical decisions; provides input on strategic decisions to management as required. Decisions and achievement of results could have a significant impact on the groups overall performance. Effects could be long-lasting; expected to be creative to develop high-impact changes in processes or strategies.
* This project is supporting an internally-developed application for United's contact center team.
* Slated to go through 2020, this is a long-term contract; there is potential, not a guarantee, to be converted to a FTE.
* Overall PM needed to work with the business team and its technical counterparts to develop new features and functionality for the application.
* ***Agile experience*** is strongly preferred - doesn't need to be a Scrum Master, but will need to be able to understand verbiage and nomenclature.
* Must be well-versed in understanding project schedules and how to map out items.
* There is currently an IT PM assigned to the project, and the identified resource should be able to collaborate with them in terms of level and downstream effects.
* This is a continuing effort, and the successful candidate must be able to estimate and lay out projects.
* ***Hospitality industry experience*** would prove to be beneficial for this project in order to understand customer service and service desks (i.e. American Express) - someone who can take the best practices from a company that runs a great call center!
* Experience with MS Project 2016 required, PowerPoint for presentations.
* Experience with TFS or Jira is a plus, but not necessary.
* PMP Certification preferred, but not required.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
* Process/Change management experience a plus.
* Travel is not anticipated.
