Business Title: Molding Inspection Tech II Request: Technician - Quality Technician II Job Description: The Molding Inspection Technician position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects that span across all of BSC, touching every franchise and site within the BSC network. As a molding inspection technician within the team, you will be looked to as a key contributor in the exploratory development and ultimately the commercialization of various projects. On top of the workhorse PD support, direct engagement in automated inspection system development will allow you to drive technical monitoring system advancement, with the support of a technically strong, experienced, and highly motived team.
Purpose Statement
Under limited supervisory direction, provide daily support of multi-point and complex surface geometry inspection processes to support the manufacture of injection molded medical device components. Documentation, quality systems knowledge, print reading and inspection method development is required. Knowledge of Keyence Vision Systems, automated inspection development, and inspection best-practices is a plus. Must possess drive for completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with engineers to establish and execute inspection processes to characterize molded components.
* Execute inspection per print requirements, document and report data findings.
* Identify and troubleshoot inspection methods to develop repeatable processes for commercial use.
* Modify existing and develop new inspection tooling and fixtures.
* Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to improve and implement inspection processes.
* Work with vendors and suppliers to procure and install new inspection equipment.
* Work with engineers on continuous improvement projects and new product transfers.
* Work with departmental customers to improve inspection quality.
* Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
* Write and execute validation protocols and technical reports.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:
Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Basic Qualifications
* Two year associates degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 2 years related experience
* Previous experience running component inspections
* Demonstrated technical aptitude, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
* Experience with GMP / Medical Device manufacturing a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
* Independent contributor that is highly motivated and driven
* Current quality inspection operator who has hands on experience with medical component processes
* Set up, troubleshoot, and optimize equipment and program settings to inspect precise and complex device components
