Department Overview:

 

The IT Meter to Cash Systems team is responsible for the analysis, design, software development, testing and implementation of new functionality within the Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) system and its direct Interfaces. This team works closely with the Customer Care line of business to assure products and services deployed are top quality and meet business and market demands.  In addition, analysts and developers from each area support their clients by providing technical expertise in diagnosing system issues and working with vendors to provide a comprehensive solution.

 


Position Summary:

 

Client s seeking a Technical Designer/ Analyst to design the functionality of its customer information system, CC&B, which is one of two enterprise systems.  It processes metering data, generates billing and associated financials, processes customer payments, and initiates and tracks collection and severance.  In addition, it contains information to support companies contact center and field services operations.  CC&B is an Oracle application with approximately 60+ direct interfaces to other internal and external applications.

 

 

We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of application lifecycle best practices in design and integration of end to end solutions. This person will redesign all ad-rate/ street light rates and work closely with the development team to dive into lower level details and create function requirements which the testing team will choose off of to do their different test case. The successful candidate must have deep level knowledge of meter to cash systems, including smartmeter technology; a broad IT technology skill set, along with very strong communication and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to lead and work in a matrix group environment.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • The Business Solution Architect is responsible for developing the technical strategy, architecture, design and system application standards for the overall MTC systems enterprise architecture. 
  • Responsible for developing bill presentation & revenue reporting
  • Partner with BA’s in line of business to ask questions and probe into the details around rate calculations and what the specific impacts are as well as identifying what selection of 200 flavors are utilized
  • Support enterprise architects, client portfolio leads and systems analysts to provide IT solutions that are consistent with Enterprise Standards, Architectures and Strategies
  • Calculate how they want to handle based on type of family?
  • Deep level knowledge of CC&B and tools (e.g. Configuration Tools).
  • Deep level understanding of system integration and infrastructure processes and procedures.
  • Expected to develop, propose, implement and promote continuous improvement.
  • Create design documents to align with opt in and enrollment piece? IDR, Web?
  • Understand CC&B rate calculations
  • Develop and document integration and implementation changes to applicable CC&B and MTC interface technical standards.
  • Work closely with the MTC Development and Operations and Support teams in the maintenance and operation of the MTC systems domain
  • Regularly called upon to apply creativity or new approaches to technical and administrative assignments that may be unique.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 8+ years of technical analysis, design and/or architecture related work with strategic thinking and presence
  • PL Oracle SQl Scripting knowledge to run a query (highly desirable)
  • Very familiar with CC&B and how the rate components work and be able to write the rate requirements.
  • Sap environment using CC&B CIS SAP deals with assets management and financial
  • Demonstrated experience in working with cross functional teams, both in IT and with business
  • Proven ability to be flexible with managing numerous issues and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-visibility work environment (with multiple stakeholders who sometimes have competing priorities)

Internal Notes: 

  • Creating specs, Business process design / re-design, development of test scripts (although this is more aligned with the Test Team)
  • Create prototypes (sandbox environments)
  • Scripting – PL/SQL – needs to come from a programming BG
  • Hands-on config experience is a must – but because of SOD they don’t, they just do design
    • Think of this as having the ability to recommend process improvements to the Configurators
