Research Leader, Hematology 1016782
Job Scope & Purpose:
Our stealth mode biotech client is seeking to grow their Research team and needs your expertise in Hematology. You will be responsible for the scientific leadership of the research team and design and execute externally sourced translational studies for existing programs and to support the discovery of new therapeutics. Primary Roles Responsibilities: 
  • Establish and lead collaborations with research institutions and KOLs as the leader in discovery and development of therapeutics for the treatment of iron loading anemias.
  • Participate in the identification and validation of targets for additional drug discovery/development projects.
  • You will identify available tools and propose innovative tools to enable biology and medicinal chemistry efforts to prosecute targets of interest.
  • Contribute to disease, target, and chemical asset due diligence, and provide recommendations on scientific and strategic feasibility.
  • A keen eye on innovative technologies and their relevance to bring therapies to patients faster or more efficiently.
  • Ability to author relevant sections of regulatory documents and present findings to key stakeholders. 

Primary Role Requirements: 
  • Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biology or related field with training in hematology. 
  • 4 years of Post-Doctoral experience in academia and/or biopharmaceutical industry with relevant disease research. 
  • In-depth understanding and preferably hands-on experience, with animal models and assays used in hematology, anemias, or thalassemias. 
  • Experience with disease-relevant human cell-based in vitro assays and animal models.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members in a variety of disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven success working in a matrix/virtual company.
