ROLE: Salesforce Administrator/Developer

LOCATION: Washington DC Metro

OVERVIEW: Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Salesforce Admin/Developer to support the implementation of Salesforce for a small company in Washington DC area. The position is on a 12month contract with potential for extension. The successful candidate will work closely with the business and with Consultants to elicit requirements and begin developing/implementing. Candidates must have strong communication – both verbal and written.

  • Understand business requirements and ability to translate into strategy based technical solutions based primarily on the platform
  • Collaborate with other developers to design solutions that hit the enhancements required within the given timeline and budget
  • Take ownership of all technical aspects of including data migrations, data quality, systems integrations, 3rd party apps, AppExchange products and custom code
  • Develop in Visualforce, Apex, Java, AJAX and others to build customized solutions that support requirements
  • Provide administrative support to through System configuration and data manipulation



  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or related field
  • 5+ years of application development and design experience
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications for the platform
  • Certified Developer or equivalent experience
  • Certified Administrator or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of platform, APEX classes, triggers and web services, Visual Force, Salesforce API’s, SOQL, and platform
  • Proficiency in HTML, XML, C#/Java and web services
  • Experience working with SQL and Excel
  • Experience with Salesforce data tools such as Data Loader, Excel Connector, DemandTools, Eclipse IDE
  • Experience integrating with other apps via realtime, batch and sync/async
  • Experience in a test-driven and formal QA Development environment including: development, staging, production deployment cycles
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the CRS app, coupled with a solid understanding of the business processes
  • Strong business analyst and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end-users
