Apex Systems is looking for a Sample Management Coordinator for our client in Boulder, CO. This is a 6-12 month contract position that has the potential to be hired on. This position will support the inventory, processing, and distribution of samples in a fast paced clinical laboratory. The sample management coordinator will perform activities in support of daily procedures including, but not limited to, checking in, tracking, aliquoting, storing, preparing, and returning or destroying biological samples.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and quality checking biological material shipments
  • Assisting in sample verification, documentation and storage
  • Accessioning of specimens using automated and manual systems
  • Manually processing large biological sample sets using multichannel pipettes
  • Maintaining an accurate sample inventory
  • Distributing processed samples to functional groups within the client company
  • Supporting disposition of specimens
  • Performing tasks based off Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Completing controlled forms while performing procedures with a high level of accuracy and detail
  • Adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) during all documentation steps
  • Complying with Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements
  • Communicating questions, concerns and procedure deviations clearly and promptly
  • Performing routine laboratory maintenance
  • Complying with laboratory safety policies and procedures

Requirements:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant lab experience
    • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant lab experience.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Must Have:
      • Experience in sample accessioning, distribution, inventory, and database management
      • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time with high accuracy
      • Ability to adhere to timelines
      • Strict attention to detail
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision while following SOPs
    • Desired:
      • Processing specimens using microliter single-channel and multi-channel pipettes
