Responsibilities: The Security and Compliance Project Manager – Advanced works for the Technology Security and Compliance organization. The Security and Compliance Project Manager – Advanced will enable successful project delivery through adherence to project management processes. To achieve this goal, the Security and Compliance Project Manager – Advanced must adhere to KP project management and governance processes; work collaboratively with all KP-IT team members. Security and Compliance Project Manager – Advanced is responsible to: Lead up to 2 - 4 projects and provide leadership to drive the work and pace of the work such that the project completes quickly.

  • Create business cases, estimate capital and operating expense budgets, estimate labor budget, and monitor variance so that adjustments can be made early in the project lifecycle to address potential cost overruns.
  • Build and maintaining project work plans to help team members remain focused on the most important tasks.
  • Review monthly budget forecasts with Finance to reduce project cost variances.
  • Produce and distribute project meeting notes and project status reports to keep sponsors, clients, IT management and team members up to date on progress and issues. Analyze project risks and formulate risk-mitigation plans to improve predictability of project team to meet commitments.
  • Overseeing quality of project work to assure high quality solution deployment. Manage solution vendor relationship to maintain rapport with vendors so that they will be most willing to support modifying their product to meet KP’s enterprise requirements.
  • Establish phased deliverables and phased released schedule for larger enterprise projects to reduce complexity and increase predictable delivery schedules.


The Security and Compliance Project Manager - Advanced day-to-day tasks include: Update project team documents, including: project work plan, risk matrix, staffing plan, scope and delivering schedule able, and deployment schedule. Update program documents, including: project budgets, project forecasts, business cases, decision point documents, review budget forecasts and business cases with finance and portfolio manager, and submit project funding requests to IT governance committee for approval. Prepare and submit ITI Governance documents, including: business case, decision point, and project overview presentation with realization team wheel.


  • Manage expectations with clients on deliverables and dates related to client requests.
  • Establish phased deliverables for enterprise projects and phased releases.
  • Host client update meetings.
  • Closely monitor quality of work to recognize early signs of project trouble.
  • Participate in project quality reviews.
  • Track issues and escalate higher risk issues.
  • Understand project dependencies; be able to recognize critical path issues that may impact the success and quality of project.
  •  Escalate critical path issues program manager and executive sponsors.



  • Minimum of 5+ years experience managing implementations of large-scale, complex, enterprise projects, with budgets up to $8 million and cross organizational teams over 16 people with up to 2 related projects
  • Minimum of 2+ years of information security and compliance experience working on HIPAA, SOX, PCI, or other compliance driven projects that contain information security requirements.
  • Must be experienced in CDP, PMP or other popular project management methodology.
  • Required to know and become proficient with the KP-IT CDP project management process and RPM project reporting tool.
  • Must be able to conform to governance processes and operate within the approved governance oversight processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or MIS or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and previous experience managing large complex projects with multiple tracks.
