Senior Epic Ambulatory Consultant

Our client has contracted with Epic as part of the Refuel project to evaluate all orders that are currently configured, as well as our current Referral Module configuration. The consulting resource is needed to complete the analysis of existing build against Epic’s model build, work with internal resources on changes, complete the required database changes, attend meetings, produce documentation to aid in ongoing support and is expected to have in depth knowledge of Epic’s recommendations for EAP and Referral module build.

The consultant will work closely with existing resources to understand current configuration and will allow existing staff to continue to support current file structure while the consultant focuses on the analysis that is necessary in order to make the best decision.

Responsibilities of the IT Resources shall include but are not limited to the following:

The resources will work forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, at 2 locations within the South side region of Pittsburgh. Resources must be available for eighteen (18) months (2880 hours). The targeted start date is April 22, 2019. This position has the potential to be extended upon completion of the original eighteen months.

Travel will be approximately 20% (as needed for meetings and analysis)

Required Skillsets and Qualifications of a successful candidate must include:

  • Certified in Ambulatory – experience working for organization that implemented ambulatory where they were involved in the setup/design prior to moving in to consulting
  • Proficient in EAP build
  • Knowledge of ordering processes within Epic
  • Knowledge of charging within Epic
  • Knowledge of EAP-EDP-OCC Hierarchy
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient in Imports
  • Proficient in Chronicle report generation
  • Certified in Epic Referrals and Authorizations
  • Certified in Epic Cadence
  • Radiology/cardiology background helpful


  • Certified in Epic Ambulatory (see above)
  • Certified in Epic Referrals and Authorizations
  • Certified in Epic Cadence

Equipment and Software made available to IT Resource

  • Equipment: Laptop, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Docking station
  • Software: EpicCare, Microsoft Office, PPM, SharePoint
