Senior Financial Analyst


Individual will be serving in a leadership role, leading financial management advisory workstreams supporting Client financial operations, audit readiness activities, audit remediation efforts, and audit liaison support.

  • Within this engagement, we support a series of workstreams,
  • Current Workstreams Supported are as follows: JV Analytics, Financial Reporting/Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR) compilation and Working Capital Fund IV&V and Corrective Action Remediation.
  • Planned Future Workstreams that we are seeking staff to support are as follows: Audit Liaison Support, Accounts Payable (A/P) Testing and Revenue - Assessment of risk, control design and operating effectiveness of the DoN revenue business processes.
  • Individual would need to perform the root cause analysis for JVs performed as adjusting entries. They would independently formulate solutions so that these adjusting entries will not be necessitated in the future.
  • Compile data from Client’s core General Ledger Systems (STARS-FL, STARS-HCM, Navy ERP, SABRS). Synthesize and consolidate data so that it can be compiled into the prescribed format to generate the core financial statements. We are looking for individuals with Working Capital Fund (WCF) and General Fund (GF) experience and expertise.
  • Client is currently facilitating the compilation of the Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR) financial statement.
  • The SBR (and required disclosures) conveys how budgetary resources were made available and the status of those resources at the end of a given period. The team is taking data from the three core general ledger systems, as well as other data provided by FMO-2 to consolidate and compile into the prescribed format. All entries and line items.
  • Audit readiness effort focused on resolving identified gaps and testing transactions for auditability. Seeking individuals that research accounting transactions and activities performed by Commands as well as the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS); reviews reporting and reconciliation efforts by the Commands and DFAS; and identifies the impact of the various financial systems upon supportable accounting transactions, reconciliation efforts, and associated reporting.
  • Based on these activities, recommendations are provided for management’s consideration of improvements with accounting treatments and reconciliation of general ledger accounts that impact the Balance Sheet, as well as the identification of system issues and proposed solutions to fixing those issues for DON FMO management’s consideration, review and approval.
  • Also seeking resources to perform substantive testing (judgmental and representative) of a relative small sample set of Command General Fund (GF) and NWCF A/R and OA transactions since late September.
  • The team generated Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) and is working with Commands/BSOs on Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Future testing for GF and NWCF A/P is still in its strategy/planning stages.
    Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
  • Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.


  • 5+ yrs of relevant leadership exp in: Federal Financial Reporting, Financial Management & Audit.
  • DoD experience- strongly preferred.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Sense of urgency & ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
    Ability to effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Strong presentation development, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial Financial Statement Audit, Compliance Audit & Internal Audit skillsets are acceptable.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
