Senior Network Administrator – Looking for someone with strong experience with switches, especially on a VLAN. Also needs to have strong experience with Layer 3 protocols/devices (routers and routing). This position may also be troubleshooting routers and also working with the various circuit providers. This is providing local and remote support to a nationwide network.
The Senior Network Administrator will become part of a team of network specialists responsible for keeping an evolving mission critical enterprise network operating flawlessly.
The Senior Network Administrator (SNA) shall lead moderately complex network projects or phases of a large project. The SNA shall coordinate work activities for a small group of technical professional employees, or manages a moderately large, complex function. The SNA shall provide technical guidance and leadership; determines deliverable and work schedules. The SNA shall act as representative to technical personnel while leading network requirements analysis activities, as well as maintenance and/or upgrades to ONTU network operations. The SNA shall be responsible for ensuring contract meets established network deliverable deadlines and performance standards. The SNA shall have demonstrated past performance of all Leading teams of personnel with Network Administrator skills. The SNA shall have senior level engineering knowledge in design, documentation and implementation of all Network Administrator skillsets, and other duties as assigned within the scope of work.
Position Qualifications
Ten (10) plus years of experience designing and implementing internet protocol (IP) networks in a large enterprise size production environment
Shall have demonstrated experience in design and deployment of Software Defined Networking (SDN) to include Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP).
Design, Build, and Maintain Firewall rules, Networking Layer 2 device configurations, and Network device Quality of Service (QoS) policies
Analyze and recommend the purchase of network equipment that takes advantage of any new technologies
Proficiency in the integration of networking devices and 5MB protocols that allow advancement of storage technologies. Technologies such as but not limited to RDMA
Experience with Cloud technologies and interconnecting existing systems into the cloud using virtual firewall appliances
Communication skills in training and developing skills of junior network administrators
Develop, implement and test changes to communication networks
Installation and service of terminals, cables, and network components
Resolve interoperability problems to maintain connectivity throughout the network
Analyze traffic information and provide analyses to justify network optimization and reconfiguration
Provide technical assistance, training and system documentation for users to promote efficient operation of communication networks
Confer with and advise senior network administrators and system administrators on the management and functional capabilities of the networks
Evaluate and recommend products and services from vendors
Conduct reverse engineering of networks, provide documentation, and explain results
