Senior Network Engineer

Schedule: M-F / 8-5

 

Location: Shiremanstown, PA  (NOC)

 

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to be a technical supervisory resource for the department, build technical talent to perform all levels of network support for stores, distribution centers, corporate campus, remote offices, disaster recovery site and internet for mission critical infrastructure. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned

  • Lead network operation projects, including project planning, translate business needs to task and deliverables, budget projections, detailed technical specifications, configuration, documentation and support team turnover
  • Perform collaborative tier 4 network technical support, notification and escalation. Lead all network security event handling. Perform root cause analysis on all severity 1 & 2 network issues
  • Lead turnover from network engineering team, creating operational policies, processes & procedures and oversee implementation of all network infrastructure changes. Assist network engineering team with planning network changes
  • Supervise, train and mentor network operations staff in network troubleshooting techniques. Includes developing and overseeing individualized training plans
  • Configure and tune network management tools to improve service and repeatability
  • Provide monthly network reporting on trouble tickets, network performance, changes, capacity, work requests and vendor score card
  • Participate in the review and modification of individualized staff training plans
  • Lead network disaster recovery test planning, testing and documentation creation
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of standards in network configurations for securing administrative and user access according to guidelines established by government, PCI, HIPAA and SOX rules for Retail industries. Perform annual review of network policies
  • Seven (7) years' of experience in managing LANs/WANs and working with TCP, UDP, IP, Ethernet, routers, switches, and network security required
  • One (1) year of experience in project management or team leader role required

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science preferred

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

 

  • Other, Cisco CCNP/CCDP or equivalent experience required
  • Other, Valid drivers license required
