Job Summary:

  • Performs audits, reconciliations, and balances of all periodic (bi-weekly or monthly) supplemental, quarterly, and annual tax processing and filings.
  • Oversees the process for multi-state payroll tax filings and reconciliations, to include system set up and team members’ tax records.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws as applicable to withholdings.
  • Serves as project manager for the year-end planning committee and its associated processes.
  • Acts as a liaison across departments.
  • Provides tax guidance to the Payroll Tax Analyst when necessary.



Level and type of experience REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of five (5+) years of payroll processing and wage/tax reconciliation/reporting work in a large, complex environment required
  • Experience in the preparation of federal and state amended tax returns
  • Advance Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • Strong organization and follow up skills providing analytical support in payroll tax and related area
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field of study



Level and type of experience PREFERRED:

  • Experience with Cognos report-writing software.
  • Experience with Ultipro Payroll software.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission (formerly the Joint
  • Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
    (JCAHO)) standards related to Payroll.
  • Experience with multi-state taxations laws.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Bachelor's degree
