This contract position is a key member of a Microsoft SharePoint team that supports an independent agency of the United States government. The team operates within the agency’s Information Technology Infrastructure Operations Department (ITIOD). The role specializes in documenting business and development requirements and testing plans for SharePoint no-code/composite/out-of-the-box solution development (e.g. custom lists, SharePoint Designer workflows) with some custom development (e.g. event receivers) and scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript).

The agency makes primary use of the Office 365 Government Community Cloud and SharePoint Online and is currently migrating from an on-premise SharePoint 2010 farm. The agency has approximately 2,300 end users.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with the SharePoint team and with business sponsors and stakeholders to conceive, design, and document the requirements for SharePoint solutions to include:
  • Gather, document, circulate for review, and revise solution requirements
  • Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow and business processes
  • Document the program and project deliverables as required
  • Coordinate with business sponsors and customers to re-engineer business processes
  • Design content management deliverables required to support the re-engineered business processes
  • Develop and deliver training materials for changes business processes and SharePoint solutions
  • Consult with customers to prototype, refine, test and debug SharePoint solutions and content development
  • Data collection, tracking, customer interaction and coordination
  • Provide quality control for SharePoint team deliverables

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the promotion of SharePoint within the agency
  • Assist in the development of content management best practices and governance
  • Provide end user support for SharePoint sites and solutions

 

Required Skills

  • At least 6 years of experience with business process analysis, requirements development, and documentation and training materials development
  • At least 5 years working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience in evaluating current business processes and determining technical solutions using SharePoint to improve those processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex concepts in plain language, generate enthusiasm, and communicate with all levels of management and staff
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables
  • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio) experience
  • Proven experience evaluating business processes and re-engineering
  • Proven experience writing clear and concise technical and user documentation
  • Working knowledge of application development life cycle to include Agile Scrum development methodology
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
