Apex is looking for a Software Engineer 2 for our Aerospace Client in Denver, CO. This role is a yearlong contract with the possibility to be extended. Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance if requested. 
Job Duties:
  • Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software
  • Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle
  • Support the generation of engineering applications and products such as display systems, mechanical control systems and electrical control systems
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel to produce high quality software that meets stakeholder needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 2-6 years of work experience
  • Experience with Unix-based operating systems
  • Experience with object-oriented designs and languages
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management practices and tools such as Git
  • Experience with software development practices including:
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
    • Agile Methodologies
    • Test Drive Development (TDD)
    • Design Principles

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing software that controls mechanical hardware (e.g. Valves, actuators, regulators, heaters, hydraulics, pumps) autonomously and/or manually via GUI
  • Dual degree Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Degree & Computer Science
