Apex Systems, nation’s 2nd largest Tech staffing firm, has an opportunity for a Software Engineer for a DOD Client of ours in Lexington MA!

This is a 1 year+ long W2 contract with PTO and Holiday pay, benefits options and a flexible pay rate dependent upon candidate’s experience level.

Job Requirements

The position requires an engineer with experience in software engineering of web applications. Specifically:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience building and maintaining production software
  • Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Strong proficiency in Java
  • Experience developing Web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java EE
  • Experience with SQL and developing RDBMS-based applications
  • Familiarity with JavaScript libraries (jQuery) and Web Application Frameworks (Google Web Toolkit, Play Framework)
  • Proficiency in Linux and familiarity with systems configuration, management, and administration

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Scala
  • Familiarity with document stores (MongoDB) or NoSQL concepts
  • Familiarity with Agile, user-oriented development techniques including automated build, test, and analysis    
  • Exposure to Python
  • Experience with text processing and/or developing applications to support foreign languages
  • Experience designing and conducting rigorous, repeatable experiments
  • Familiarity with concepts in Automatic Speech Recognition and/or Machine Learning

Minumum Education Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance, and pass a Government background check
