Software Engineering Manager – Process and Tooling 
Summary of Position:
The Consultant Software Engineering Manager owns Software Engineering Policies, Procedures, and Processes within Software Engineering. They will work collaboratively to ensure the right balance between team autonomy and consistency across Software Engineering. They will champion quality and operational excellence including adoption of tooling and systems to help provide better insights into the full lifecycle of software development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Ownership of all SE Policies, Process, and Procedures including CLIENT’s Software Development Lifecyle, CAPA and post-mortem process, and Development Standards.
  • Agile/Scrum and DevOps process advocate for the department.
  • Drives a culture of continuous learning.
  • Gather metrics on and provide reports regarding quality and operations. 
  • Partner with Information Security team to ensure Software Engineering processes include the appropriate security elements, including threat modeling, etc..
  • Catalyze departmental change to support agile values, especially around a culture of value delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • BA/BS degree in a technical field. 
  • 3-7 years of related work experience in a technical environment.
  • 1-2 years Management or Project/Program Management experience.
  • 1-2 years working in a cloud-based product development environment.
  • Familiarity with software development regulatory standards such as ISO 12207, IEC 62304, or FDA’s medical device regulation. Excellent Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence tools a plus.

  • Strong and effective inter-personal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff, while maintaining positive client and staff interactions.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership and presence.
  • Must possess critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to operate in an Agile team environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job: 
  • This position will require employee to work on site at the CLIENT headquarters in Rosemont, IL.
